A Trusted Space for the Community
The David E Harris Recreational Center, also known as the Georgetown Community Building, was created out of a generous donation of stocks left to the trustees of the Mount Gilead Church of Georgetown to establish a recreational area for the people of the community. In 1988 the building was erected and named for the benefactor, David E Harris as requested in the Declaration of Trust.
Located at 3208 Georgetown Road in Lewis County, WV. Over the years the officers and trustees, with the help of the community members, have hosted many community events. The building and grounds are also available for rent to the members of the local community and surrounding areas.
We are a not-for-profit organization under the IRS designation of a 501(c)(3), making any donations made to our organization tax deductible.
We believe that every community deserves a place where memories are made — a space that feels comfortable, safe, and inviting for everyone.
